One of the Fusion Staff drew us =)
Here is a video of the performance courtesy of the Fusion crew(Thanks!):
I'm just glad I got to experience this in my last year dancing with Barkada Modern(or dancing period). That's a whole other blog...for now I'm just cherishing all that this year is bringing with this team.
Monday(April 14, 2008) brought another first. My very first Dodger game. When I was a kid, I use to be a hardcore Dodger fan. I use to collect the cards of all the players...use to follow them in the newspaper(back then there was no internet and, in my case, no cable)...I wanted to play baseball just because of the Dodgers. However, as I got older, I picked up other sports/hobbies such as basketball and skateboarding so I didn't follow the Dodgers, or baseball for that matter, as much. I think it was partially due to the fact my parents would never let me play little league that caused me to lose interest. I still rooted for the Dodgers whenever I did happen to see or read about them though...I was just no longer a hardcore fan. I never stopped wanting to watch a Dodger game live though. That was always a thing on my list of "things to do before I die." Everyone says watching a Dodger game on T.V. is no where as fun as watching it live. Plus, I had to try one of those Dodger Dogs that everyone raves about. Yes, I am a fatty. =P
Thanks to a friend, I was able to FINALLY watch a game...AND FOR FREE! Her dad got 4 tickets and a free parking pass from his work(I need to work there. haha!) so her, her bf, another friend, and I, went to watch the Dodgers play the Pirates. Although the game was a close one, with various lead changes, it was kind of boring. But the atmosphere of being there definitely made up for it. The cool breeze, the random yelling/screaming of fans, the unified chants of "Let's go Dodgers," doing the wave, and the 7th inning stretch all made for a very fun night. I can now see why baseball is the American past time. I would definitely jump on another chance to watch a Dodger game. The Dodger Dog, though wasn't the best hot dog I've eaten, was pretty tasty too. =)

Thursday(April 17, 2008) brought yet another first. My first time eating at a Beverly Hills restaurant(or spending that much money on food for that matter =X). The location: Wolfgang Puck's "Cut" in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
The motive...to celebrate the birthday of my favorite Melissa in the whole world, Ms. Melissa Bernal. =) We had been all so busy preparing and practicing for Fusion that we didn't really have time to celebrate her birthday so we decided we would take her out to a fancy smancy restaurant. Fancy smancy indeed...I just about had a heart attack looking at the prices of the steaks. I was originally planning to just get an appetizer but I asked myself, "how often will I eat in a place like this." So i went for the gusto and ordered a steak. Not one of the REALLY EXPENSIVE ones, but it was definitely not cheap either. Let's put it this way...my steak was about over a week's worth of lunch. You only live once right? Indeed, but for the next few weeks, I'll be eating from the $0.99 menu's. I wish I had enough money to order some wine so I could really experience what the rich and wealthy eat and drink on a daily basis.
Looking around, I thought to myself that I don't think I could live this kind of lifestyle. It's just not me. It would be nice, but I think even if I was wealthy, I wouldn't be spending this kind of money on food unless it's a special occasion. But who knows, money changes people right? Anyway random sighting...we saw the world famous street fighter Kimbo Slice having dinner as well. I guess all those street fights got him so good money.
Well, there you have it, my first post here. Yeah, it's a little long, but then again, that's the reason I decided to start blogging again. With all that was happening recently, I felt a need to write about it. This past week of "firsts" definitely reminded me that there's still a lot of "firsts" I want to experience in my life. A lot of stuff I still want to cross off my "things to do before I die" list. Sometimes I get so consumed with trying to make ends meet or trying to "fix my life" that I forget about all the things life has to offer. Sometimes you need a reminder.
